CONCERN. COMPASSION. COMMITMENT.

For more than 50 years, Resurrection Baptist Church has been a historic cornerstone in Southeast Washington, DC—faithfully serving the community with unwavering devotion, spiritual strength, and a heart for God’s people. As a Christ-centered fellowship, we exist to lift the name of Jesus Christ and to offer a place of hope, healing, and transformation for all who come seeking God’s presence.

Our church proudly stands on our timeless motto: “Concern. Compassion. Commitment.” In alignment with Micah 6:8 — “to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God,” — we strive to reflect the character of Christ in all that we say and do.

Under the leadership of Rev. Dr. David J. Venable, Resurrection Baptist Church continues to empower believers, strengthen families, and serve our neighbors with love and integrity. Through uplifting worship, biblical teaching, heartfelt prayer, and community outreach, we aim to be a living demonstration of God’s grace in Southeast DC and beyond.

Whether you are seeking spiritual growth, a supportive community, or a place to call home, there is a space for you at Resurrection Baptist Church—where new life begins and God continues to move in powerful ways.
